A compact Clyde-built branch-line locomotive with a working life that reached far beyond its original Western Region home.
TCS The prototype
Clyde Engineering built 18 EMD G8C locomotives at Granville for the NSWGR between 1960 and 1964, delivered in three batches of six.
They entered service in the Western Region, working branch and main lines west of Lithgow before later moving into metropolitan trip, coal and ballast duties.
