blue train.
Introduced by the Victorian Railways in 1956, Harris trains were Melbourne’s first steel-bodied suburban electric multiple units. Construction continued in several batches through to 1971.
The deep blue and yellow trains operated across the electrified suburban network, normally formed from motor, trailer and backing-trailer cars in flexible four, seven and eight-car combinations.
